The background focus changes after taking a picture or shooting a movie.

When recording a movie, the aperture setting can be controlled depending on the recording mode. Since the aperture value may change while recording, the blurring of the background focus (depth of field) may also vary once recording is done.

To check the defocus level of still pictures, press the Preview button. The aperture value is displayed on the LCD screen or in the viewfinder.
