Using Noise Cancellation without playing music

Did you know you can use the noise cancellation (NC) function can be without playing back music?
It can be a handy feature to block out background sounds in noisy places such as a train or a plane.

You can change the "Auto-off" setting of the WH-1000XM3/WF-1000XM3* with the Sony Headphones Connect app. 
This setting allows you to use your headphones without keeping your headphones connected to an external device and without playing music. 

For other models, the [Auto Power Mode] will be activated if no music is played back after five mins.
To avoid this, you can use the bundled stereo cable that was provided when purchasing your product.
Keep it connected to a playback device such as a mobile phone or an MP3 Player without actually playing music. 
It will prevent the headphones from going into [Auto Power Mode].

That way you can use the NC function on its own and enjoy a moment of absolute silence.
