What is JEITA measuring standard?

    JEITA stands for Japan Electronic Information Technology Association (Ver 1.0).

    JEITA measuring standard is based on the following conditions.

    Settings:
    1. Screen saver: None.
    2. Volume control: Mute.
    3. Switch off the Wireless LAN switch.
    4. Complete the initial settings of Norton Internet Security
    5. Turn off the Windows automatic updates
    6. Set up the Power Options settings in Control Panel as below:
    * Power Schemes: VAIO Ultimate Battery
    7. Disable NVIDIA Smart Dimmer option as below: (NVIDIA Graphic models
    only)
    * Click Do not use SmartDimmer when my notebook is unplugged

    Note: Calculate the battery run time as follows: [(measurement method a) + (measurement method b)] / 2.

    JEITA Measuring Method A

    At a display luminous intensity of 20 cd, measure the continuous playback time of one MPEG moving image file read from a hard disk.

    * Power Schemes
    1. Disable Turn off monitor option.
    2. Disable System Standby option.
    3. Disable System Hibernates option.

    * VAIO Power Management
    1. Set LCD Brightness - Running on batteries to Level 1.
    2. Click the Advanced tab and select VAIO Power Management tab but disable Automatically hibernates when computer goes into a low-power state option.

    JEITA Measuring Method B
    * Power Schemes
    1. Disable Turn off monitor option.
    2. Disable System Standby option.
    3. Disable System Hibernates option.

    * VAIO Power Management.
