How to reset or initialize the Wireless Headphones (LinkBuds)
Reset the LinkBuds
- Put one earbud of the LinkBuds headset into the charging case until it clicks.
Note: The reset procedure is performed separately for each earbud.
- Close the lid of the charging case.
Note: Closing the lid ensures the earbud is straightened and locked in place.
- Hold the charging case in your hand and press the lid open button.
- Press and hold the charging case reset button for about 20 seconds.
Note: Continue to hold the reset button. After about 15 seconds, the indicator light on the charging case slowly flashes orange for about 5 seconds. When the indicator light on the charging case stops blinking the headset begins the reset procedure. When the reset is complete, the indicator light is lit orange or green for about 3 seconds to show the remaining headset battery charge and then turns off.
- When the indicator light turns off release the reset button.
- Remove the earbud from the charging case and start the operation again from the beginning with the other earbud.
Notes:
- During the reset procedure, the device registration (pairing) information and other settings are retained.

Initialize the LinkBuds to restore the factory settings
IMPORTANT: The initialize operation resets all the device settings to the factory defaults and deletes all pairing information.
Notes:
- After initializing the headset, you should also delete the headset pairing information from any connected device then re-pair the device again.
- When the remaining battery charge of the charging case is too low, the headset will not start an initialize operation. If this is the case, charge the charging case.
- If you fail to close the charging case completely or remove the headphones from the charging case before the initialization is complete, the initializing process will not finish.
- Put the left earbud (the one with the tactile dot) into the left hole of the charging case, and the right earbud into the right hole until each side clicks into place.
- Close the lid of the charging case.
Note: Closing the lid ensures the earbuds are straightened and locked in place.
- Hold the charging case in your hand and press the lid open button to open the lid.
- Press and hold the initialize button of the charging case for about 15 seconds.
Note: Continue to hold the initialize button. The indicator light on the charging case repeatedly flashes twice in blue and then starts flashing orange. Release your finger within 5 seconds after the indicator light starts flashing orange.
- When the initializing is complete, the indicator light on the charging case flashes green 4 times.
Notes:
- If the indicator light does not flash green 4 times after performing step 5, the headset has not been initialized. Try again from step 1.
- You can also initialize the headset using the Sony | Headphones Connect app.
