Why does the Pre-Dial Terminal screen appear when accessing a dial-up connection?

The Pre-Dial Terminal screen appears when accessing a dial-up connection.

The Pre-Dial Terminal screen appears due to the settings. Follow the steps for the respective Windows® environment below to disable the option.

For Windows® 98/SE/Me
1. Open the Dial-up Networking folder.
2. Right-click the dial-up connection and right-click Properties.
3. Click Configure and click the Options tab.
4. Disable the Bring up terminal window before dialing and Bring up terminal window after dialing options.
5. Click OK.


For Windows® 2000/XP
1. Open the Network Connections folder.
2. Right-click the dial-up connection and right-click Properties.
3. Click Configure.
4. Disable the Show terminal window option.
5. Click OK.
