How to disable the auto-rotate feature in Windows 8 and 8.1.

    Follow these steps to disable the auto-rotate feature.

    1. In the new Windows User Interface (UI) Start screen, click the Desktop tile.

    2. On the Desktop, right-click the center of the screen, and then click to select the Screen resolution menu option.
    3. In the Screen Resolution window, remove the check from the box next to Allow the screen to auto-rotate, and then click the OK button.
