How to open a command prompt window in Windows 8 and 8.1.

    Follow these steps to access the command prompt.

    1. From the Start screen, press the Windows Logo + X key combination.
    2. On the menu, click Command Prompt.

    3. The Command Prompt window will appear.

      NOTE:  If you wish to open the Command Prompt window with administrator rights, click the Command Prompt (Admin) option.
