Why is there no sound when playing Blu-ray Disc (BD) media output via HDMI?

There is no sound when playing Blu-ray Disc (BD) media output via HDMI.

    This issue can occur if the computer is not configured correctly for HDMI output. Follow this procedure to configure the computer correctly for HDMI output.

    NOTE: Not all computers have an internal Blu-ray Disc (BD) optical drive.

    1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
    2. In the Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound.
    3. In the Hardware and Sound window, under Sound, click Change system sounds.
    4. In the Sound window, click the Playback tab.
    5. On the Playback tab, click to select the Digital Output Device (S/PDIF and HDMI), and then click the Set Default button.
    6. Click the Properties button.
    7. In the Digital Output Device (S/PDIF and HDMI) Properties window, click on the Supported Formats tab.
    8. On the Supported Formats tab, under Encoded formats, click to clear the checkmarks from he boxes next to DTS Audio, Dolby Digital, and Microsoft WMA Pro Audio, and then click the Apply button.
    9. Click the Output Channel tab.
    10. On the Output Channel tab, under Digital Output Selection, click the down arrow and then click to select Only for HDMI.
    11. Click the OK button.
    12. In the Sound window, click the OK button.
    13. In the Hardware and Sound window, click the X in the upper right corner to close the window.
