What is JEITA measuring standard?
PREPARATION
- Connect your VAIO computer to an AC power source.
- Recover your VAIO computer.
- Turn on your VAIO computer.
- Show the Start screen and select the Desktop tile or press <windows> key + D.
- Delete all icons except the garbage box on the desktop.
- Turn the Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock indicator light off on your keyboard. If you are using the wireless keyboard, the turning off operation is unnecessary.
INVALIDATING THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE DRIVE
- Open File Explorer and select the Local Disk (C:) and righ-click on Properties.
- Select the [Tool] tab.
- Select the Optimization.
- Select the Changing setting.
- Uncheck Notify me if three consecutive scheduled runs are missed.
- Uncheck Run on a schedule (recommended).
- Select OK.
- Close all windows on the desktop.
VAIO CONTROL CENTER SETTINGS (Please skip t he step when the item does not exist)
- Start VAIO Control Center and set them as follows.
- Go to [Power and Battery] > [Power Plan] > Select [Power saver].
- Go to [Power and Battery] > [Cooling and Performance] > Select [Silence].
**Please select [Silence] in both "STAMINA" and "SPEED" if your VAIO computer has the performance selector switch. - Go to [Power and Battery] > [Power Saving] > [Set the display refresh rate when running on battery] > Select [40Hz].
- Go to [Mouse and Keyboard]> [Keyboard Backlight] > [Set the keyboard backlight action when running on battery] > Select [Do not turn on].
- Go to [Image Quality] > [Display Brightness] > [Set whether to sense the brightness and automatically adjust the display brightness accordingly] > Select [Off].
- Go to [Image Quality] > [Display Color Mode] > Select [Off].
- Go to [Image Quality] > [Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2] > Select [Off].
- Go to [Sound Quality] > [Sound Effects] > [Set the sound effect to use] > Select [None]. Please skip if you cannot select [None].
- Go to [Hardware] > [Rapid Wake] > Select [Off].
- Go to [Other] > [Send Usage Data] > Select [Off].
- Close all windows on the desktop.
CONTROL PANEL SETTINGS
- Go to [Control Panel] (If following item doesn't exist, it is not necessary to set it)
- Select [Large icon] or [Small icon] by View.
- Select [User accounts] - [Change User Account Control settings] .
- Move the slide bar to [Never notify].
- Click [OK].
- Click [Control Panel Home].
- Select [Action Center] - [Change Action Center Settings].
- Uncheck All enable item.
- Go to [Customer Experience Improvement Program settings].
- Check [No, I don't want to participate in the program].
- Click [Save Changes].
- Click [OK].
- Click [Control Panel Home].
- Select [System] - [Advanced system settings] - [Advanced]tab - Performance : [Settings].
- Click [Ajust for best performance].
- Click [OK].
- Select [Remote] tab.
- Uncheck [Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer].

- Click [Windows Experoence Index] or [System rating is not available] - [Re-run the assessment] or [Rate this computer].
- Click [Control Panel Home].
- Select [Windows Firewall] - [Turn Windows Firewall on or off].
- Check [Turn off windows firewall (not recommended)] of Private network setting.
- Check [Turn off windows firewall (not recommended)] of Public network setting.
- Click [OK].
- Click [Control Panel Home].
- Select [Troubleshooting] - [Change settings].
- Select [Off] of Computer Maintenance.
- Uncheck [Allow troubleshooting to begin immediately when started].
- Click [OK].

- [Allow wake timers] - [On battery] : [Disable].
- Go to [USB settings] - [USB selective suspend setting] - [On battery] : [Enabled].
- Go to Intel(r) Graphics Settings - [Intel(R) Graphics Power Plan] - [On battery] : [Maximum Battery Life]
- Go to [Processor power management]
- Go to [Minimum processor state] - [On battery] : [0%]
- Go to [Maxmum processor state] - [On battery] : [0%]
- Go to [Display]
- [Dim display after] - [On battery] : [0 Minutes]
- [Turn off display after] - [On battery] : [Never]
- Go to [Multimedia settings] - [When playing video] - [On battery] : [Optimize power savings]
- Go to [Battery]
- [Critical battery action] - [On battery] : [Shut down]
- [Low battery level] - [On battery] : [0%] . Click [Yes] when alert message display
- [Critical battery level] - [On battery] : [100%]. Click [Yes] when alert message display
- [Low battery notification] - [On battery] : [Off]
- [Low battery action] - [On battery] : [Do nothing]
- [Reserve battery level] - [On battery] : [0%]
- Click [OK]
- Select [Language]
- Confirm only [English] on language list.
- Remove item when other language exist.
- Please add [English] from [Add a language] if there is not [English].
- Select [Notification Area Icons]
- Go to [Turn system icons on or off]
- Input indicator] : [off]
- Click [OK]
- Check [Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar].
- Click [OK]
- Close all windows.
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER SETTINGS
- Start Windows Media Player and carry out initial setting as follows.
- Select [Windows Media Player] - [Custom Settings] - [Next], all the following uncheck all item, and click [Next].
- Display media information from the Internet
- Update music files by retrieving media information from the Internet.
- Download usage rightsautomatically when I play or sync a file.
- Send unique Player ID to content providers.
- I want to help make Microsoft software and services even better by sending Player usage data to Microsoft.

- Check [Make Windows Media Player the default music and video player], and Click [Finish].
- The display of Windows Media Player is changed into skin mode by Ctrl+2.
- Close all windows.
SYSTEM CONFIGURATION SETTINGS
- Press the Win + R key.
- Enter the "msconfig" in the Run.
- Click the [OK].
- System configuration is started.
- Startup]tab -> Click the [Open Task Manager].
- Turn off all the items that are displayed. Select the items one at a time click on the bottom right [Disable] or Select [Disable] from the menu that appears by right-clicking.
- Close the [Task Manager] Window.

- Change to the following settings. On battery - 0%
- Click "OK".
JEITA Measuring Method [b]:
- Open "Control Panel".
- Go to [Power Options] - [Power saver] - [Change plan settings] - [Change advanced power settings]
- Select [Display] - [Display brightness]
- Change to the following settings.
- On battery - 0%
- Click "OK".
After setting and measuring [a] or [b], Set "Device Manager" again before doing the following measurement.
In that case, set "enable" to the device that wants to be set to "disable" once. and set to "disable".
