How to update drivers of mouse or touchpad using keyboard in Windows Vista?
Users can update mouse and touch pad drivers by using keyboard when mouse and touch pad cannot work properly.

The operations below are performed in Safe Mode.
If the computer is in normal mode, please first restart it in Safe Mode and then update drivers.

How to shut down the computer in normal mode

Press the Windows key, press → three times, and select Shut down.

Press Enter to shut down the computer.
- Start the computer in safe mode
- Press the Windows key, press →, press ↑ for several times, select Computer, and press .
- Press ↓ to select Properties, and then press Enter.
- Press Tab continuously to select Device Manager, and then press Enter.
- When the Device Manager dialog box displays, press Tab, and then press ↓ continuously to select Mice and other pointing devices.
- Press → to open Mouse and other pointing devices.
- Press key ↓ to select the content (※), and then press Delete.
※ The information displayed depends on the mouse and touch pad connected.
- When the Confirm Device Uninstall dialog box displays, select OK, and then press Enter.
- When the System Settings Change dialog box displays, select Yes, and then press Enter.
- Restart Windows.
- When the Microsoft Windows dialog box displays, select Restart Now, and then press Enter.
- Restart Windows
- After restarting Windows, please install the identical drivers from Microsoft. Then the mouse and touch pad can function.
If the mouse is not the original one, please install the attached drivers.

- Start the computer in safe mode
- Press the Windows key, press →, press ↑ for several times, select Computer, and press .
- Press ↓ to select Properties, and then press Enter.
- Press Tab continuously to select Device Manager, and then press Enter.
- When the Device Manager dialog box displays, press Tab, and then press ↓ continuously to select Mice and other pointing devices.
- Press → to open Mouse and other pointing devices.
- Press ↓ to select the content (※), and then press .
※ The information displayed depends on the mouse and touch pad connected.
- Press ↓ to select Update Driver Software, and then press Enter.
- When How do you want to search for driver software? dialog box displays, press ↓ to select Browse my computer for driver software and then press Enter.
- When Browse for driver software on your computer dialog box displays, press Tab, press ↓ to select Select from device drivers on your computer, and press Enter.
- In Model, press ↓ to select the using mouse, and then press Enter.
- When the Windows has successfully updated the driver software dialog box displays, select Close and then press Enter.
- Select Yes in System Settings Change, and then press Enter.
- Restart Windows
- When the Microsoft Windows dialog box displays, select Restart now and then press Enter.
- Restart Windows.
- After restarting Windows, please first install the drivers from Microsoft. Then the mouse and touch pad can function.
If the mouse is not the original one, please install the attached drivers.
