Where is my Start Menu in Windows 8?
The Start Screen replaces the Start Menu in Windows 8. All your apps are available from the Start Screen. You can pin your commonly used apps, contacts and websites to easily access it. You can group and name categories of apps in a way you want it to be.
To go to the Start screen, you can do one of the following:
- Place your mouse on top or bottom right corner of the screen, and click on Start charm.
- Press <Windows> key on the keyboard.
Additionally, there is a quick way to access the list of tools and system settings that you commonly used.
- Place your mouse on the lower-left corner of the screen and right-click on the Start / Display screen preview overlay that appears.
- A menu of tools and system settings commonly used is displayed.
Note: The menu can also be accessed by pressing the keyboard shortcut <Windows key> + X.
