Notice of Security Update Program for VAIO Personal Computers with NVIDIA Graphics Card

Dear valued VAIO customer,

NVIDIA has recently identified a possibility of critical buffer overflow vulnerability in NVIDIA Graphics Driver installed on VAIO personal computers. The security update program that resolves this issue has been released and Sony recommend that you apply the update program as soon as possible.

Affected Models:
VAIO personal computers with NVIDIA Graphics Driver versions x.xx.x1.73.01 to x.xx.x3.11.00 installed. Please click here for the affected models.

Potential Impact:
The vulnerability potentially allows an arbitrary code to run in the affected system of a VAIO personal computer if it is used to browse certain malicious websites .

Solution:
Sony has released a security update program to correct this issue. Sony recommends all customers immediately install the latest version of NVIDIA Guard Service using the VAIO update program or download and install the update program from the Sony Support website.
