Recording speed is slower than before.

Over time, as data is repeatedly written to and erased from the memory card, residual data can accumulate. The erasure of this residual data takes place on the card internally when new data is written, which can slow down the write speed. If continuous shooting becomes slower or errors occur when recording video, the cause could be the effects of residual data.

To eliminate the problem you can perform a full format (physical format) of the memory card to completely erase all the residual data.

If the write speed has slowed noticeably or errors occur, we recommend that you perform a full format of the memory card, particularly before shooting important events.

Notes: How to perform full format (physical format):

• Some cameras allow you to switch from performing an ordinary quick format operation to a full format operation on the menu screen.
• If you choose to format the memory card on a computer, use the operating system format function to perform a physical format operation​​. Once that operation is complete, load the card into the camera and format it again in the camera as well.
