The following steps may differ between Android versions. To learn which Android version your device has, find and tap Settings → About phone → Android version. If you do not see About phone under Settings, tap System.
- Make sure that NFC is activated on both devices.
To enable or disable the NFC function (Android 12/Android 11)
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection → Connection preferences.
- Tap NFC.
- Tap the switch.
To enable or disable the NFC function (Android 10/Android 9)
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection → Connection preferences.
- Tap the NFC switch.
To enable or disable the NFC function (Android 8)
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection.
- Tap the NFC switch.
- Make sure that the screen of your device is unlocked and active.
- Hold your device and the other NFC compatible device so that the N-Marks of both devices make contact, and then slowly move your device in all directions. The NFC detection area is generally indicated by (NFC icon).
- Remove any protective case or cover from your device to verify that it's not blocking the connection.
- Make sure that your device isn’t already connected to another NFC compatible device. If so, disconnect them, and try to connect to the other device again.
- In some cases, NFC sensitivity may not be strong enough to connect using NFC. If so, use Bluetooth technology instead of NFC to connect the devices.
To turn the Bluetooth function on or off (Android 12/Android 11/Android 10/Android 9)
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection → Connection preferences → Bluetooth.
- Tap the switch to enable or disable the function.

To pair your device with another Bluetooth device (Android 12/Android 11/Android 10/Android 9)
- Make sure that the device you want to pair with has the Bluetooth function activated and is visible to other Bluetooth devices.
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection → Pair new device. A list of the available Bluetooth devices appears.
- Tap the Bluetooth device that you want to pair with.
- Enter a passcode, if required, or confirm the same passcode on both devices.
To pair your device with another Bluetooth device (Android 8)
- Make sure that the device you want to pair with has the Bluetooth function activated and is visible to other Bluetooth devices.
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection → Bluetooth.
- Tap the Bluetooth switch to enable the function. A list of the available Bluetooth devices appears.
- Tap the Bluetooth device that you want to pair with.
- Enter a passcode, if required, or confirm the same passcode on both devices.
To connect your device to another Bluetooth device (Android 12/Android 11/Android 10)
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection. A list of previously connected devices appears.
- Tap the Bluetooth device that you want to connect to.
To connect your device to another Bluetooth device (Android 9)
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection → Previously connected devices.
- Tap the Bluetooth device that you want to connect to.
To connect your device to another Bluetooth device (Android 8)
- Find and tap Settings → Device connection → Bluetooth.
- Tap the Bluetooth device that you want to connect to.
