1. Disconnect any devices that are connected to the camera
If you want to connect your smartphone or tablet to a camera via Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi Direct connection) using the camera as an access point, make sure the camera is not connected to any other mobile devices or computers.
If a mobile device is connected to the camera, disconnect the Wi-Fi connection to the camera from the connected mobile device

2. Try another connection method
If you are unable to connect with Bluetooth pairing, please try another connection method.

3. Restart the mobile device
Restart the mobile device (switch off the device and switch it on again).

4. Set Airplane Mode to OFF (Camera)
This step is only required if you are using ILCE-1/9M3/7RM5/7SM3/7M4, ILME-FX3/FX30, ZV-E1.
If you are using a device other than those listed above, press the "No, or not applicable" button and proceed to the next step.
On the camera, set [Airplane Mode] to [Off].
MENU → (Network) → [Network Option] → [Airplane Mode]

5. Set Airplane Mode to OFF (Mobile Device)
Switch off Airplane Mode on the mobile device.

6. Set VPN to off
If you have a VPN app, or a security app that uses a VPN, installed on your mobile device, switch off the VPN.

7. Reset the SSID
This step is only required if you are using ILCE-1/9M3/7RM5/7SM3/7M4, ILME-FX3/FX30, ZV-E1.
If you are using a device other than those listed above, press the "No, or not applicable" button and proceed to the next step.
Reset the camera SSID.
MENU → (Network) → [Wi-Fi] → [SSID/PW Reset] → [OK]

8. Delete Bluetooth pairing information
Delete Bluetooth pairing information from the camera, the app, and the mobile device (OS) respectively.
App: Go to Help Guide and delete the camera pairing information.
Camera: On the camera, select (Network) → [Bluetooth] → [Manage Paired Device] . If your mobile device is listed under connected devices, select it and delete it.
Mobile Device (OS): Open Bluetooth in your mobile device's settings, and if your camera is listed under connected devices, tap to remove it. Then switch Bluetooth OFF, and then switch it ON again.

9. Uninstall/reinstall app
Uninstall Monitor & Control, and then reinstall it.

10. Reset the network settings
Reset your mobile device's Network Settings.
The menu structure and terms may vary depending on your mobile device.
Reset Wi-Fi, mobile data communication, and Bluetooth from [Settings] → [System] → [Reset options]. Resetting may improve the connection; however, it will also initialize the following settings, so they will all need to be reconfigured.
