What is MHL?
MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link)
MHL stands for Mobile High-Definition Link. MHL uses a five-pin connection to deliver up-to 1080p picture quality, 192khz sound quality and 7.1 channel surround sound.
Since MHL uses such a small pin count, it is commonly used to connect smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices to a High-Definition (HD) TV or display device.
Requirements to use MHL:
- The source device and the display device must have an MHL connection.
NOTE: In some cases a MHL-to-HDMI adaptor can be used if the display device does not have an MHL connection.
- An MHL cable.
- Audio (music), videos, photos or other media that is supported by both devices. Check the manual or specification data for the source device and the desplay device to make sure that the file type is supported.
