What is TV Companion?
TV Companion introduces a new way to interact with your TV
Use your mobile device with Facebook Messenger to connect to TV Companion.
Once connected, you are able to search content in multiple languages, access different content services, and others.

Vietnam only.
Note: In some models, you may see TV Companion icon on your TV even though it is not supported in your country. Please refer to this article for more information (Not applicable for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines and Vietnam models).

What mobile devices can support TV Companion?
Both Android and iOS mobile devices can support this feature.
Which services works with TV Companion?
Can TV Companion work in other app than messenger?
TV Companion only works with Facebook Messenger.
What is the pre-condition to use TV Companion?
- Both Mobile Phone and Television should be connected to internet.
- Facebook Messenger is installed and logged in on mobile phone
- FPT Play app should be installed (from Play Store) and logged in on TV to use FPT Play related functions.
- First time user will need to register Sony account to use TV Companion and other Sony specific applications. (Applicable to Group 1 TV)
Can TV Companion control multiple TV simultaneously?
Yes, you can control multiple connected TVs simultaneously via TV Companion. The TVs which are enabled in Settings of TV Companion (from smartphone) will be controllable.
Can multiple users control the same TV simultaneously using TV Companion?
Yes, multiple users can register to the same TV and can control the TV.
Does TV Companion support TV ON from standby?
Yes, TV Companion can switch ON your TV remotely once you have enabled the “Remote On” settings on your TV.
Is there any difference using TV Companion on Android or iOS?
TV Companion interface layout might vary amongst mobile operating platforms (Android /iOS).
Can TV Companion work if Mobile and TV are on different network?
TV Companion can work even if mobile and TV are on different network.
What is the order of contents in Play list?
The contents added to Play list are arranged in time order.
First added item on top and latest added item on bottom.
How do I change my TV Companion UI language (inside Facebook Messenger) to Vietnamese?
- Login your Facebook account on PC browser.
- Go to Settings & Privacy > Language > Language and region settings > Facebook language
- Change the language to "Tiếng Việt"
- Now Open Messenger on Phone.
- Type Hello again to load the TV Companion WebUI.
- Selected strings will be shown in Vietnamese.
- Login Facebook using Facebook App on Mobile
- Go to Settings & Privacy > Language and region settings > Facebook Language (will directly go iPhone language settings)
- Change the language to "Tiếng Việt" (settings in iPhone)
- Now Open Messenger on Phone.
- Type Hello again to load the TV Companion WebUI.
- Selected strings will be shown in Vietnamese.
How to delete any Facebook account from the TV (to remove it from controlling TV)?
Open TV Companion app on TV, go to Accounts, select the account which you want to delete, press Enter, confirm to delete/un-link the account.
Notes:
- Unlinking the account from TV will remove the link with Sony account, which is common account for “TV Control with Smart Speakers” and “TV Companion” apps. If unlinked, you will need to link again by scanning the QR code of respective app/s. (Applicable to Group 1 TV)
- The connection might still work after deleting the account. Please reset your TV Companion App.
How to reset TV Companion App?
On TV. Settings > Apps > TV Companion > Clear Data. Please re-pair TV companion with TV.
If issue persist, please do a TV Factory Data Reset.
What is the recovery method, in case my TV Companion stops working due to some technical issue? Example, able to search content on TV Companion, but doesn’t play on YouTube or FPT Play app on TV.
- Please check if the Messenger account on phone and the TV are linked. In TV Companion (Messenger app settings page), make sure your selected TV name appears. In TV Companion (TV app settings page), make sure your account name appears (& not deleted).
- Check both Phone and TV are connected to internet.
- If issue persist, please do TV Companion reset
Facebook Login Error while loading UI on Messenger
- Open Phone Settings > Apps > Messenger
- Delete/clear Messenger apps storage data/cache from phone
- Login and try again
