The Wide Area Tap function does not work as expected.

    Follow these steps to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Use the Wide Area Tap function with a different application.
      The tap reacts correctly.
      Depending on the app, the Wide Area Tap function may not react as expected. If this is the case, that app may not fully support the Wide Area Tap function and you will need to use the connected device to operate that app.
      The tap doesn't work with that app.
      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    2. Try the following procedure to verify that the Wide Area Tap function is working.
      1. Check again how to use the Wide Area Tap function: Tap the headphones or around the ear quickly with an interval of about 0.2 seconds. The tap can be easily detected by performing a firm tap with a forefinger or using 2 fingers at one time.
      2. Set the Wide Area Tap setting to Sensitivity: High.
        1. Open the Sony | Sound Connect app.
        2. If the Wide Area Tap setting is set to Sensitivity: Standard, change it to Sensitivity: High.
      3. Check that the Wide Area Tap function is assigned to any function other than None Assigned.
        1. Open the Sony | Sound Connect app.
        2. In the System tab, select (Settings) on the right side of the Change the tap operation function menu.
        3. Select a function other than None Assigned.

        In the default settings, the operations below are assigned.
        Note: The volume can only be controlled when you play music.

      4. Restart the connected device.
      The tap reacts correctly.
      The issue was caused by a temporary malfunction or the way you tap.
      The tap does not react correctly.
      Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    3. Make sure that the ear-fitting supporters are properly attached to the headphones, and the headphones are properly attached to the ears.

      To properly attach the fitting supporter, align the protruding part of the headphones with the cutout on the fitting supporter. Make sure to insert the fitting supporter completely.

    4. Reset the headphones.

    5. Initialise the headphones.

      Initialisation returns the headphones to the factory settings and all Bluetooth pairing information is deleted.
