Sony Launches Two New Camera Power Supply Solutions to Meet Creator Needs
(ASIA PACIFIC, 16 October 2024) – Sony today announced the launch of two new camera power supply solutions for the Alpha series, a part of Cinema Line cameras using NP-FZ100 battery to meet the growing needs of creators: the BC-ZD1 battery charger which charges two batteries simultaneously and the DC-C1 DC coupler that supplies power directly to the camera body from an external power source.
The BC-ZD1 is a high-speed charger for Sony’s high-capacity NP-FZ100 batteries[i]. It can simultaneously charge two batteries in approximately 155 minutes[ii] (full charge[iii]) when connected to a USB Power Delivery (PD) compatible power supply with 30W or higher output and a USB cable with USB PD support (3 A) or higher current.
The DC-C1 DC coupler[iv] provides continuous, reliable power to cameras compatible with NP-FZ100 or NP-FW50 rechargeable battery packs using an external power source such as a USB PD (65 W or more) compatible AC adapter and USB cable with USB PD support (5 A), allowing for a stable power supply during long shoots or streaming.
By expanding its range of power solutions, including genuine battery products, Sony aims to enable extended photo and video shooting, contributing to a more efficient workflow for creators.
