What is Windows XP Mode?

About Windows XP Mode.

Windows XP Mode is a virtual operating system package that emulates the Windows XP SP3 operating system. It is designed for Windows Virtual PC which is a virtualization program for the Windows 7 operating system. When running a program in Windows XP Mode, the program will act and respond as if it is running in the Windows XP operating system which, in effect, eliminates compatibility issues that may exist between the program and the Windows 7 operating system.

The Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC software is available for download from the Microsoft Web site at https://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx.
