I cannot transfer music content to my Walkman player using a Mac computer

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article.

The Walkman player is not compatible with the Content Transfer for Mac software. To transfer music content stored on a Mac computer to your Walkman, you will need to install additional file transfer software on your computer.

For details, refer to the Transferring content using Mac computer section in the Help Guide:

1. Open the Help Guide.
2. Enter your model name in the search bar, or select your product type and choose your model from the list provided.
3. Under the Manuals or Manuals & Warranty tab, select Help Guide (Web manual).
4. In the left-side menu, find and select Transferring content using Mac computer.

Keep in mind the following:

• If you are trying to use a Mac computer for the first time, please use software that allows you to transfer files to your Walkman player via USB.
• Currently, we do not guarantee the operation of any software. Please note we take no responsibility whatsoever for services provided by third parties.

If you are using Google's Android File Transfer software:

• As of July 2024, the Android File Transfer app is no longer available for download.
• If you already have the Android File Transfer app installed:
  • For NW-ZX500 / A100 Series: When using a Mac computer with the M1, M2, or M3 chip, the Android File Transfer software will not detect the NW-ZX500 / A100 Series Walkman player. This is a specification.
  • For other models: You can transfer music content to the player with the Android File Transfer software. However, Sony does not guarantee full compatibility.
