How to transfer a playlist created on an older Walkman player to a newer Walkman.

Note: As of July 2024, the Android File Transfer app is no longer available for download. Keep in mind the following:

    • If you are trying to use a Mac computer for the first time, please use software that allows you to transfer files to your Walkman player via USB.
    • Currently, we do not guarantee the operation of any software. Please note we take no responsibility whatsoever for services provided by third parties.

You can transfer the playlists by first moving the Music folder from the older Walkman player to the computer temporarily, and then dragging and dropping that same folder to the newer Walkman player.

    Notes:

    • If you transfer music content not registered in a playlist, you can delete it after copying the folder to the newer Walkman player, if necessary.
    • Language Study content is not supported.
    • Music content registered in a playlist cannot be stored separately in the player's memory or SD card.
    • If the size of the file(s) being transferred is large, it may take several hours to complete the process. If this is the case, you can copy sub-files or folders individually, but be sure to copy all folders and files.
    • If the music content registered in the playlist has not been transferred, it will not be displayed in the playlists of the Music player on the newer Walkman player.

    Before transferring the music content

    • The Walkman DMP-Z1, NW-A30, NW-A40, NW-A50 Series, NW-WM1A, NW-WM1Z, NW-ZX300 Series support transferring a playlist to the following Walkman:
      • NW-A100 Series
      • NW-A300 Series
      • NW-WM1AM2/NW-WM1ZM2
      • NW-ZX500 Series
      • NW-ZX700 Series
    • Check the free space on the newer Walkman
Free space equivalent to or larger than the copy source Music folder is required. If there is not enough free space, it is recommended that you prepare a microSD card with the same or larger capacity and transfer it.
    • Check the free space on the computer
Prepare any location that has at least as much free space as the copy source Music folder.
