How to de-authorize a Reader Digital Book or computer from your account?

De-authorize a Reader Digital Book or computer from your account using the Reader for PC or Reader for Mac software.

    Reader™ for PC
     
    De-authorize computer:
     
    1. Start the Reader for PC software.
    2. Once the software has finished starting up and you are on the Reader for PC screen, press and continue to hold the Ctrl + Shift key on your computer keyboard.
    3. With the keys still pressed, click Edit and then click Preferences from the menu.
    4. In the Preferences window, click the Deauthorize tab.
    5. On the Deauthorize tab, next to Deauthorize this computer, click the Deauthorize button.



    De-authorize Reader device:
     
    1. Connect your Reader Digital Book to the computer and start the Reader for PC software.
      NOTE: Depending on your reader device, you may need to touch Data Transfer Mode on your Reader device.
    2. Once the software has finished starting and you are on the Reader for PC screen, press and continue to hold the Ctrl + Shift key on your computer keyboard.
    3. With the keys still pressed, click Edit and then click Preferences from the menu.
    4. In the Preferences window, click the Deauthorize tab.
    5. On the Deauthorize tab, next to Deauthorize tethered device, click the Deauthorize button.



    Reader™ for Mac®
     
    De-authorize computer:
     
    1. Start the Reader for Mac software.
    2. Once the software has finished starting up and you are on the Reader for Mac screen, press and continue to hold the command + Shift key on your computer keyboard.
    3. With the keys still pressed, on the menu, click Reader for Mac and then click Preferences.
    4. In the Preferences window, click the Deauthorize tab.
    5. On the Deauthorize tab, next to Deauthorize this computer, click the Deauthorize button.


    De-authorize Reader device:

    1. Connect your Reader Digital Book to the computer and start the Reader for Mac software.
      NOTE: Depending on your reader device, you may need to touch Data Transfer Mode on your Reader device.
