How to start the computer in Safe Mode for Windows Vista?

1. Turn on the computer.
2. On the VAIO screen, press and hold the F8 key for 7-10 seconds.
NOTES:
   - The F5 key also may be used on some computer models.
   - If a Please Select Boot Device window appears, press the ESC key, then press the F8 key.
IMPORTANT: If safe mode is being used to troubleshoot an Internet or network connection issue, choose Safe Mode with Networking in the next step.
3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, press the UP ARROW key until Safe Mode is selected.
4. Press the ENTER key.
NOTE: If a password prompt appears in the Password box, type the password and press the ENTER key.
